Pauline Yorke Individual
John Peppiatt is this years winner of the Pauline Yorke Individual played over 3 weeks with different partners.
John's partners were: Judith Bishop, Ted Cliffin and Alan Maine.
Pauline Yorke was a long time member of the bridge club and her daughters Judy Bowen and Jillian Yorke were on hand to present John with a beautiful gift basket.
This caps off a very successful bridge year for John.
Christmas Tournament November 2023
A very successful Christmas Tournament was held on Sunday Nov 12th at our Clubrooms with 12 tables. This was followed by a lavish meal prepared by our wonderful chef Carol and her helpers.
Our thanks go to Kevin Hu, our Director for the day.
There were 3 equal Divisions decided on their rating points.
Congress Winners
Five members went to Congress this year with a great deal of success. Sabrina Peters and Nita Knight had a brilliant couple of days winning the Intermediate Swiss pairs from a field of around 80. Huge congratulations to them.
Jena Robinson along with her team mates won their division in the Open Teams event, well done to them.
Sabrina,Nita,Barbara,&Ted came a credible 8th in the Intermediate Teams event.
All in all our little club from Thames matched it with the best ,so a big congratulations to you all.
Junior Championships
Recently The Junior Championships we’re held over two consecutive Wednesdays.
Eight pairs enjoyed 2 relaxing afternoons playing 21 boards in a Howell movement.
Jena was our Director and mentor. Points of Bridge etiquette were discussed.

Waikato Interclub
Our Intermediate team of Ted, Barbara ,Nita and Sabrina did very well coming 3rd in the recent interclub competition.
Our Junior team of Richard, Lorraine, Bob and Ross came a creditable 5th under what turned out to be very trying circumstances.
